New report details the alleged NIL offer that Tennessee has made to 2027 5-star RB David Gabriel Georges
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges will be getting a big NIL payday from either the Tennessee Vols or the Ohio State Buckeyes, but now we know how much the Volunteers may be offering.
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is expected to receive a hefty NIL deal whether he lands with the Tennessee Vols or the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Early last month, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Gabriel Georges is expected to receive a pay day in the “high six figures” while adding that the deal could creep into the seven-figure range.
“Sources consider the 2027 running back class elite at the top with Georgia five-star commit Kemon Spell and uncommitted five-star David Gabriel Georges,” wrote Nakos. “Those deals are expected to crawl into the high six-figure range. Georges’ recruitment has turned into a race between Ohio State and Tennessee, and sources have said a seven-figure package is not out of the question.”
It sounds like the number has climbed way past a million at this point.
New report details Tennessee’s alleged NIL offer to David Gabriel Georges
According to a new report from On3’s Lettermen Row, it’s believed that Tennessee’s offer to Gabriel Georges is “more than” $6 million over three years (around $2 million per season).
“Tennessee’s NIL offering, while impossible to really substantiate, is higher than what the Buckeyes have put together — as expected,” reported On3’s Jeremy Birmingham. “Lettermen Row has heard it speculated that there is more than $6 million in total on the table for Gabriel-Georges over three years. That doesn’t include the usual SEC-inspired extras that so often win the day. Whether that’s private air travel or real estate offerings.”
(Birmingham provided more details about the speculation around the offer in his report.)
To be clear, Birmingham isn’t confirming that this is the official offer, but this is what is believed to be on the table from Tennessee.
NIL deals don’t have to be publicly reported, so it’s often difficult, if not impossible, to confirm all of the financial details.
But this number feels about right. Gabriel Georges is viewed as a transcendent talent who could be a superstar at the next level. His decision won’t be based solely on the financial aspect, but it’s obviously part of the equation.
