Strengths

  • Powerful runner: Judkins is the kind of back that defenders don't like to tackle. He runs over and through defenders with easy and forces a missed tackle every four carries.
  • Pass catching: Judkins isn't going to run a traditional route tree, but he is a natural pass catcher and great in open space with the ball in his hands. Flashes the ability to find open space in the zone and take advantage of defenses.
  • Burst: When a hole opens up, Judkins has no issue bursting right through it. His acceleration pops in short spaces and he can outrun most defenders through the second level.
  • Frame: Judkins has a compact frame with plenty of muscle on it to absorb the punishment at the NFL level

Weaknesses

  • Consistent Patience: Judkins shows the ability to be a very patient back, waiting for his blocks to set up in front of him. It needs to become a little more consistent though, as he has a tendency to get a little impatient.
  • Pass Protection: There is a semblance of pass protection ability with Judkins, but too often he doesn't show good enough technique and will either miss or just throw his body into the defender.

Player Evaluation

Judkins came to Ole Miss as an unheralded three-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, but beat out transfer Ulysses Bentley IV for playing time and put up 1,476 yards and 16 touchdowns as a true freshman. He followed it up with another quality season of 1,053 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Judkins provides a versatile, three-down back who can do a little bit of everything for you. He can run inside zone, power and run outside where he softens angles and creates advantages with his burst. Judkins can also handle a heavy workload with over 235 carries in his first two seasons at the college level.

Player Comparison

Shades of Kareem Hunt
Coming out of Toledo, Hunt was a very similar back to Judkins. He could do a little bit of everything and did so effectively. When he joined the Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt made an impact from day one and was an impact player for years across both the Chiefs and Cleveland Browns.
