Jonah Laulu

The Colts drafted Laulu with the 234th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Laulu had a strong training camp, but the name of the numbers caught up with him here. Sources have told me the Colts plan to add him to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
During the draft, Laulu was a player many teams had on their radar as a UDFA. So, I think it's very possible teams could be interested in getting him in their building. He has an athletic profile teams typically covet, as well as position flexibility on the defensive line.
I would have liked to see the Colts keep him on the 53 and part ways with the older depth players ahead of him, such as Taven Bryan or Eric Johnson II. Laulu seemed to already be a better run defender than both, with upside to improve as a pass rusher. It's now a waiting game for the Colts, who have cut a draft pick in back-to-back years. And last year, they saw that player, Darius Rush, claimed off of waivers.
