The Washington Commanders will have to spend a short week preparing before they hit the road to take on NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.

The team has been banged up for the majority of the season, and the list continues to grow. The Commanders already announced before practice that wide receiver Noah Brown would be going on IR and miss at least the next four games. Brown just can’t get healthy, and the Commanders need to think about his long-term availability. Another injury to watch is defensive end Dorance Armstrong, who left the game on Monday night a couple of times, then eventually returned for good. The defense can’t afford not to have its best player against one of the best offenses in the league.

The good news, however, is that wide receiver Terry McLaurin is back to practice this week, which means he may play Sunday, but it’s too early to tell. The same could be said about right guard Sam Cosmi, who was stretching at practice today, and could make his season debut Sunday.

Observations

  • Today’s practice was a light jog through, so people shouldn’t stress too much about the injury report. Thursday and Friday will show the accuracy of the injuries on the team, and players will return from rest. Corner Jonathan Jones had his 21-day window opened up as well, so hopefully he can come back soon and help the secondary.

Observations

  • The Cowboys seem to be getting healthy, of course, including big names like wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin, and offensive lineman Tyler Booker. The Commanders’ defense is already struggling enough, and adding Lamb to the Cowboys’ offense, where George Pickens has been thriving, is a recipe for disaster.
