A Colts player who will have a tough fight to retain his spot on the team in training camp is preparing for it in a unique way
The Indianapolis Colts had multiple roster needs heading into the offseason. Their offseason decisions have filled some but also created others. One that still stands since the 2024 season ended, though, is the team's backup running back role. Last year, the team went with Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson as Jonathan Taylor's backups. One that still stands since the 2024 season ended, though, is the team's backup running back role. Last year, the team went with Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson as Jonathan Taylor's backups. Neither were able to make much of an impact on the team and as a result, nearly the full load of the running game fell on Taylor's shoulders. Tyler Goodson will be back with the team for training camp ahead of the 2025 season. However, Goodson's roster spot is far from safe after an addition in the offseason, and many are anticipating the team to use the draft to add to their RB room. And it looks like part of his offseason training includes something pretty unique.
Colts RB Tyler Goodson's offseason training regimen includes boxing

Goodson posted on his Instagram that his offseason preparation for the 2025 season includes boxing. His caption on a video of his boxing training shared the reason why, "Quick Hands ➡️ quick feet."
Of course, the Colts couldn't go into training camp with Goodson's job as Taylor's backup set in stone. They have already signed veteran RB Khalil Herbert this offseason, and the team has done extensive work on the RB class in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
So Goodson is rightfully taking this offseason very seriously. He will have to impress the staff and outperform multiple others in order to make the team's 53-man roster when the time comes. Maybe boxing will help elevate Goodson's game to a new level but don't worry. He has also shared via Instagram that standard football drills are still a major part of his offseason training.

If you are a fan of the Indianapolis Colts or the NFL and find yourself on the social media app X, formerly known as Twitter, you know all about the infamous Capt. Andrew Luck parody account. Sadly, since the former Colts quarterback's retirement, the account has essentially retired as well, but they made a comeback […]
The Colts and Texans rivalry just got even more interesting with a starter switching teams ahead of the 2025 season
The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans have had a lot to say about each other over the last few years. The loudest players from the Colts in the back-and-forth have been linebackers Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed. And now Speed will be part of the rivalry on the other sideline in 2025. Colts starting linebacker EJ […]
