The Atlanta Falcons head into Sunday's season opener against the Carolina Panthers with one player ruled out so far.
According to Atlanta's injury report on Friday, cornerback Jeff Okudah (ankle) did not practice and head coach Arthur Smith has ruled him out.
Running back (joker) Cordarrelle Patterson was limited for the third day straight and his game status is in question. Wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge practiced in full, however, his game status for Sunday is also questionable.
Here is Atlanta's final injury report for Week 1:
| Player | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Game Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
CB Jeff Okudah | Ankle | DNP | DNP | DNP | Out |
TE Jonnu Smith | Rest | DNP | – | – | – |
RB (J) Cordarrelle Patterson | Thigh | LP | LP | LP | Questionable |
WR KhaDarel Hodge | Ankle | LP | FP | FP | Questionable |
KEY: DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation | NIR = Not injury related
Injury report observations:
- Prior to Week 1's first practice, Patterson had been sidelined with a soft-tissue injury since mid-August. If he isn't available on Sunday, rookie running back Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allegeir will handle to workload.
- Okudah has been dealing with an ankle injury since Aug. 5. Tre Flowers is the next man up.
- If Hodge isn't available on Sunday, then second-year wideout Drake London will start in his place.
Could Falcons have the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year on their roster?
A lot of hype surrounding the Falcons rookie.
