The Texas A&M Aggies have been on a heater to start the 2025 season, and their undefeated start has begun feeding into their success off the field. The Aggies have hosted several major recruiting events over the past few weekends, but none may be bigger than the weekend they are set to have this week when they take on the Florida Gators.

A&M is set to play host to some of the top players across the 2027 class, including the #1 player in the state of Texas. Not only that, but they are also hosting a 2026 top recruit currently committed to the Gators, adding another element of intrigue to the SEC matchup.

All in all, over 30 recruits across the 2026, 2027, and 2028 classes are set to descend on College Station this weekend, and the Aggies could go a long way in securing back-to-back top-five recruiting classes with a strong performance at home this week against the Gators.

A&M’s 2027 Class Could Rival 2022 Haul

While A&M’s 2027 class doesn’t look like much at the moment, they are still sitting at a respectable 15th place right now and have some of the top recruits in the class in quarterback Jayce Johnson and offensive tackle DeMarrion Johnson. 15th is a solid ranking, but not good enough for A&M’s standards. This weekend could go a long way in boosting them way up into the top ten, including a pathway to the top-five classes in the cycle.

The Aggies are hosting the number one ranked cornerback recruit and number one overall in-state player in John Meredith, who sits fourth overall in the 2027 class. This is a crucial one, as both Texas and Oklahoma are vying for the shutdown corner. Luckily for A&M, this will be Meredith’s second visit to College Station, so they have to at least feel comfortable where they stand in his process right now.

Other elite 2027 recruits such as five-star pass rusher David Jacobs, four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, four-star wide receiver Dakota Guerrant, and four-star pass rusher Jaiden Bryant are set to visit as well alongside Meredith, making this a pivotal weekend. Additionally, elite 2026 recruit pass rusher KJ Ford, a current Florida commit and one who has already flirted with other SEC schools, will reportedly be visiting this weekend as well. Texas A&M already boasts a top-five class in 2026, but flipping him would almost guarantee it before Signing Day.

As always, there’s a huge caveat that comes with any recruiting news, especially since Signing Day for the 2027 class is well over a year away. If you are Texas A&M this weekend, every bit helps, and hosting such a massive game with what figures to be another sellout crowd could leave a lasting impression on these recruits over the next several months.
