Mississippi State QB Kamario Taylor has a strong message for LSU ahead of big showdown between the Bulldogs and the Tigers in Baton Rouge
The LSU Tigers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs will meet on Saturday in Baton Rouge.
Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor has a message for LSU ahead of this weekend’s big showdown between the Bulldogs and the Tigers in Baton Rouge.
Taylor grew up rooting for LSU, but he won’t be taking it easy on the Tigers on Saturday because of his childhood fandom.
In fact, it’ll be quite the opposite.
Taylor told Geaux247 that he’s trying to ruin LSU’s night this weekend.
The star quarterback will have a chip on his shoulder against LSU because the Tigers’ previous coaching staff (under Brian Kelly) only offered him as a safety when he was in high school.
And current LSU head coach Lane Kiffin didn’t offer Taylor at all when he was the head coach at Ole Miss.
“I’m trying to go ruin whatever night they’re going to have because Death Valley is a place that a lot of quarterbacks don’t want to go, but I’m looking forward to it because LSU was one of my favorite teams growing up, so I got a chip on my shoulder when it comes to them,” said Taylor.
“LSU, the coaches, they called me one day – it was a good minute ago – they were like we would like to get you down here to work out as a safety, so that kind of put a chip on my shoulder,” added Taylor of his recruitment. “They kind of told me I’m really not good enough as a quarterback, so that really made me feel some type of way. So my mindset towards them has changed.”
Taylor is a dynamic player, and it sounds like he’ll have some extra juice for this one. It’s certainly going to be a challenge for LSU’s defense to keep him in check on Saturday.
