Florida football make a massive recruiting statement with the Gators landing another elite weapon
Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall can’t stop recruiting at a high level, landing another top-100 recruit in the 2027 class.
The phrase “Gator boys stay hot” was about the Joakim Noah and Al Horford Florida Gators national championship basketball teams in 2006 and 2007. However, it can easily be repurposed for head coach Jon Sumrall‘s recruiting in recent weeks.
Going into this week, Sumrall had landed a whopping 15 commitments in the 2027 recruiting class after the 2026 class that Billy Napier started landed just 19 recruits. Sumrall continued the hot streak on Tuesday afternoon by landing four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl.
Florida Gators Commit Four-Star WR Elias Pearl
- Pearl is another target from the state of Florida, residing in Port Charlotte less than 200 miles from Gainesville.
- The Rivals’ Industry Ranking ranks Pearl as the 95th overall recruit and the 17th-best wide receiver in the 2027 class.
- Florida has two wide receivers committed in the 2027 class, including four-star Tramond Collins and four-star Anthony Jennings.
Florida Gatorsland commitment from four-star WR Elias Pearl
The Gators have been hot on Pearl for some time, and they finally secured his commitment over the Ole Miss Rebels. It’s the third wide receiver in the recruiting class for Sumrall, and he committed next to his teammate, four-star quarterback Logan Flannery, who picked a big rival for the Gators in the Florida State Seminoles.
Pearl is an explosive player in the class of 2027 for the Gators, who have a lot of hot receiver prospects in the pipeline, including Davian Groce, the No. 62 overall recruit in the 2026 recruiting class.
Sumrall now has 16 commitments in the class of 2027.
