Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall might be the hottest recruiter in the nation.

On Tuesday alone, they received two commits within an hour of each other in four-star offensive tackle Elijah Hutcheson and four-star safety Kailib Dillard. They are also primed to land an international talent in three-star defensive lineman Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui.

It’s certainly a banner day for the Gators, improving something that hasn’t been nearly good enough. They kept getting good news throughout the day, this time on the offensive side of the ball with wide receiver Elias Pearl.

Four-Star WR Elias Pearl

  • Pearl is another target from the state of Florida, residing in Port Charlotte less than 200 miles from Gainesville.
  • The Rivals’ Industry Ranking ranks Pearl as the 95th overall recruit and the 17th-best wide receiver in the 2027 class.
  • Florida has two wide receivers committed in the 2027 class, including four-star Tramond Collins and four-star Anthony Jennings.

Florida Gators make top-six schools for WR Elias Pearl

One of the top wide receiver targets for the Gators has been Pearl, a four-star out of Port Charlotte, Florida. He named his top six on Tuesday night, and included the Gators. He also included the LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, North Carolina Tar Heels, Ole Miss Rebels, and Florida State Seminoles.

It’s a nice benchmark for the Gators to reach with Pearl, who has already been on campus four times, with an official visit scheduled for May 28th. The 5-11 and 183-pound wideout is an explosive weapon who could be impactful for the Gators.

His scouting report from Charles Power of Rivals highlights an elite-level prospect in the Sunshine State.

Elias Pearl turned in a breakout showing at Rivals Camp Miami. He was the top wide receiver on the day, in what as the deepest position group at the event. Pearl was fantastic in every facet throughout Sunday’s workout. He was a crisp route-runner in drills and consistently showed strong, reliable hands at the catch point. Pearl also strung together some of the more dominant 1-on-1’s we saw from any pass-catcher on the day. He shook a defensive back out of his shoes with a nasty out-and-up for an easy touchdown and later scored on a vertical route during the best-on-best period at the end of the camp. Pearl is a smooth, natural mover with a high level of coordination and route-running ability. He’s coming off a big junior season at Port Charlotte (Fla.) High that saw him account for 1,305 yards and 24 touchdowns from scrimmage.

Right now, the Gators are in a tremendous spot to land Pearl, ranking first with a 97.0% likelood to land his commitment per the Rivals’ Recruiting Prediction Machine. He would enter a deep wide receiver room in Gainesville, but his profile shows a player who could earn snaps early on as a freshman.
