‘I’m not like Tim Tebow’ — Jaxson Dart has some fascinating comments about Florida Gators legend after practice
When you enter the NFL, there are things you need to do with your body. Jaxson Dart is learning that going into year two.
The quarterback position is the most important one in all of football. The Florida Gators have especially been aware of that over the last decade plus.
Since Tim Tebow graduated after the 2009 season, the Gators have struggled at the position. Outside of the tremendous year Kyle Trask had in 2020, it’s been a rotating cast of characters who haven’t lived up to expectations. That has brought many to consistently mention the legend of Tebow, who won two national championships and a Heisman Trophy in 2007.
Jaxson Dart references Tim Tebow in hilarious exchange
One of the biggest things about Tebow was the shape he was in. With his physical running style, Tebow needed to have a strong physique to handle the down-to-down beating he would take.
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is in a similar place to Tebow, as his style is heavy running like Tebow was. He has been working on developing his physique going into the season, and he made quite the comment on Tebow.
“I’m actually pretty similar from a weight standpoint. I just think that I’m just, I’m just leaner. And our strength staff has done an amazing job. I’m not like Tim Tebow.”

The one thing that separates Dart from Tebow is how often they both invite contact. Tebow did it much more frequently with the Gators. Dart is trying to take less of those hits and be more of a fluid athlete than look like a bodybuilder.
These comments are ones that don’t fall on deaf ears either, as the New York media has had plenty of exposure over the years to Tebow. For the sake of Giants fans, hopefully Dart has a better NFL career than Tebow, cause the latter certainly had the better college experience.
The legend of Tebow won’t go away anytime soon.
