Ohio State Buckeyes have made their third addition out of the spring transfer portal.

To this point, the Buckeyes had added North Carolina DE Beau Atkinson and West Virginia OT Justin Terry from the portal. Atkinson has a chance to make a big impact for the Buckeyes after having 7.5 sacks last season with the Tar Heels. Terry is coming back to Central Ohio for his second season of college football.

Now, the Buckeyes have added a former teammate of Atkinson at North Carolina. Ohio State now has their second addition from Bill Belichick’s team.

North Carolina long snapper Grant Mills commits to Ohio State

Ohio State’s third addition of the spring via the transfer portal will act as the second long snapper on the roster. Grant Mills fills the void that was made by Morrow Evans opting to hit the portal. Mills is a walk-on with the Buckeyes and will not count as one of the 90 scholarship players that they will have.

John Ferlmann will again be the long-snapper for the Buckeyes. Mills will serve as his backup. Not a splash move for the Buckeyes but a needed move for an underrated part of the football team.

Having played just one season at North Carolina and it being a redshirt year, Mills will have four years of eligibility to be in Columbus. Mills made one start in 2024 with the Tar Heels and played in just two games. The North Carolina native is now making the trip to Ohio.

Ohio State could still add a defensive tackle to fill out their roster. Other than that, the Buckeyes’ 2025 roster is just about in place. Week 1 against Texas will be here before we know it.
