The Oklahoma Sooners have been relentless in their pursuit of the 2028 quarterback who best fits them. Just this week, they began sending out offers to QBs in the class.

Three offers have been sent out so far. On Monday, OU QB coach John Kuceyeski issued an offer to what could be his next quarterback after Bowe Bentley and Jameson Roberts. Brady Quinn in South Florida is a 2028 QB they really like. He’s one of the three QBs in the class that they have sent an offer to. Now, they are also looking at a 2029 QB. According to his Twitter, 2029 QB Logan Lucero has received an offer from OU.

Lucero is in a recruiting class that still has a long way to go before it gets on campus. Most anything after 2028 won’t have a ranking or much information. The 6’3, 210-pound quarterback from Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas, doesn’t have any stars yet, as most players don’t. However, he already has some really good offers, including a few offers from blue bloods.

According to Rivals, Lucero has offers from the Oklahoma Sooners, Michigan Wolverines, Utah Utes, Baylor Bears, SMU Mustangs, Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and a handful of other top schools. However, none of them are known for their QB work quite like the Sooners are.

Sooners have a history of developing quarterbacks

Whether it’s Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts, or even John Mateer right now, the Sooners are known for having good quarterbacks. When you look at the NFL, there are Sooners everywhere throughout the history of the league.

Oklahoma recruits well at the quarterback position because of its history. That, and of course, the amazing staff, are the reasons this program recruits so well for the position. OU could land Lucero, but they have a lot of work to do.
